FAA Drone Pilot Certification Course
Part 107 Drone Pilot Certification Course
A Japanese-language online course designed to help you pass the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certification exam. Module 00 is free.
This course is designed for Japanese speakers living in or frequently traveling to the United States who plan to operate drones commercially under U.S. federal regulations. The Part 107 exam must be taken at a U.S. test center.
Curriculum
This course covers the entire Part 107 exam scope in 10 modules. Module 03 is split into two chapters (03A and 03B) because airspace is both the most heavily tested topic on the Part 107 exam and the most conceptually challenging area for remote pilots. We give this topic extra depth to ensure mastery. Future updates will also address emerging regulations such as Part 108.
Before You Apply
Please review the following requirements before taking the Part 107 exam. Non-U.S. citizens may have additional steps to complete.
Exam Location
The Part 107 Knowledge Test can only be taken at PSI test centers within the United States. Online or overseas testing is not available.
Identification (Non-U.S. Citizens)
You will need a valid passport plus a second form of ID (e.g., a U.S. state-issued driver's license or ID card). A foreign driver's license may qualify under the rules, but acceptance is at the test center's discretion — a U.S. state-issued ID is strongly recommended.
US Agent for Service (If You Lack a U.S. Address)
As of April 2025, under 14 CFR Part 3 Subpart C, FAA certificate applicants without a U.S. address must designate a US Agent for Service (new applicants: April 2, 2025; existing holders: July 7, 2025). Third-party agent services typically cost $50–$200/year. See the FAA portal at usas.faa.gov for details.
IACRA Registration & Address Requirements
After passing the exam, you will apply for your Remote Pilot Certificate through IACRA (FAA's online application system). A U.S. address (or your US Agent's address) is required for registration.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I take the exam from Japan?
No. The Part 107 Knowledge Test is only available at PSI test centers within the United States. You must travel to the U.S. to take the exam.
Can I use a Japanese driver's license as ID?
While a foreign government-issued ID may technically qualify as a second form of identification, acceptance is at the test center's discretion. We strongly recommend obtaining a U.S. state-issued ID to avoid issues on test day.
Can I use Part 107 if I live in Japan?
Part 107 is a U.S. federal certification. Commercial drone operations under Part 107 are limited to U.S. airspace. Drone operations in Japan require separate certifications under Japanese aviation law. This certificate is most valuable for those who plan to operate commercially in the United States.
What is a US Agent for Service?
As of April 2025, FAA certificate holders without a U.S. address must designate a US Agent for Service (14 CFR Part 3 Subpart C). This is a U.S.-based representative who receives legal notices from the FAA on your behalf. Third-party services typically cost $50–$200/year.
Is Part 107 enough to start a commercial drone business?
Part 107 is one of the FAA requirements for commercial operations, but it is not sufficient on its own. You also need U.S. work authorization (citizenship, green card, or work visa), aircraft registration, Remote ID compliance, insurance, and business registration.

Course Scope
The FAA Part 107 exam has no practical (flight) test. This course is structured exam preparation — it covers regulations, airspace, weather, human factors, risk management, and waiver/authorization procedures. It does not teach the physical act of flying a drone.
That said, this is more than an exam-cram course. It covers the systematic, practically applicable knowledge a working commercial drone pilot needs in the field.
