Born in 1982 in Sendai City, Japan. Graduated from Waseda University, Faculty of Letters. Completed NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Film and TV Industry. Founded TOMOCREATE, INC. in Manhattan, New York in 2019.

Career
Prior to founding Tomocreate, Hiroyuki Okawara built his craft across multiple disciplines in Japan's broadcast and live production industries — working as a camera operator, director, and producer at a leading Tokyo-based television production company and a major entertainment production firm in Yokohama. He also accumulated experience as a bridal videographer for exclusive wedding venues in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
In 2010, he relocated to New York City, where he spent nearly a decade as a producer and director of in-house media content for a prominent Japanese corporation based in New York.
In 2019, he founded Tomocreate, Inc., channeling his cross-disciplinary background into a full-service video production company. Specializing in live music documentation and corporate films, he brings a careful, client-centered approach to every project — listening closely to translate each client's intent into compelling visual stories.
He is also active in New York as a videographer, DJ, and music producer.
